I usually give all pay per views the benefit of the doubt though, and take the 'wait and see' approach. I will say that it at least looks like a decent card on paper. So without wasting anymore time, here are my thoughts and predictions from start to finish...
Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
[A WWE Network commercial airs next]
Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin
[Becky Lynch and Naomi are backstage]
Naomi: Am I missing something here? No, Becky, we're missing someone. So let me address the elephant in the room. Where is Charlotte?
Becky: Naomi, relax, she'll be here.
Naomi: Becky, you of all people know that she can't be trusted.
Becky: Look, I know. But we don't have any choice. It'll be two against three otherwise.
Naomi: It might as well be. Because you kn--
Naomi: Well look who conveniently shows up two hours late.
Charlotte: Well as they say: Better late than never, right champ?
Naomi: Look, Charlotte, don't even start with me. I'm not in the mood.
Charlotte: Not in the mood? You want to talk about trust? Didn't you take Tamina under your wing once upon a time? And Becky, weren't you best buddies with Natalya? I guess when it comes down to it, if you can't trust your friends, the only ones to turn to are enemies. We're not exactly friends, but we do have common enemies. Enemies that will pick us apart if given the chance. So we need to be on the same page before that happens. If you're not in the mood, you better get in the mood real quick. Woooo!
[Charlotte walks out, and Naomi and Becky look at each other]
Becky: You know, I hate to admit this, but she does have a point.
[A New Day return promo airs next, and they are advertised to return on the following Smackdown! Live]
The Usos vs. BreeZango for the WWE Tag Team Championships
After the match, The Usos knock Breeze off the apron and deliver another splash to Fandango's knee, much like they did to American Alpha last September.
[Dasha is in front of the trainers' room backstage]
Dasha: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm outside the trainers' room, where I'm still waiting to get word about Randy Orton's condition, after losing the title earlier tonight. Early reports are coming back that he did indeed suffer a concussion following the attack by The Great Khali, and I will keep you posted when I hear more.
Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles for the United States Championship
After the match, AJ takes Owens to the outside and hits a springboard 450 splash through the announce table.
[The pay per view panel provide their thoughts on the night thus far]
Charlotte, Naomi and Becky Lynch vs. Natalya, Carmella and Tamina in a six-woman tag team match
Charlotte and Naomi get in each other's face after the match, with Becky trying to separate them.
[Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are discussing what just happened, as Randy Orton barges in]
Orton: Where the hell is he, Shane? Where is he? Where's Jinder?
Shane: Look, man, I don't know what to tell you. Jinder left. He's out of the building. We've been trying to reach him.
Orton: Not good enough! I want my revenge, and I want my title back!
Shane: Look, Randy, there's nothing I can do. You're just gonna have to wait 'til Smackdown.
Orton: What about Khali? I want a piece of that son of a bitch!
Shane: Look, just calm down. Khali isn't even on the roster anymore. I don't know what to tell you. My hands are tied.
Orton: Hands are tied, my ass! You better do something about this now!
Shane: You better calm down!
Bryan: Relax. Both of you! Enough! Randy, you still have your rematch clause for now. And you can have it this week on Smackdown! Live. You and Jinder in a steel cage, how's that?
Orton: At least someone knows how to do their job.
Shane: Excuse me?
[Orton walks out]
Bryan: Shane, relax. We'll handle this.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler
So there you have it.
Here are my match predictions for Money in the Bank (I believe that's the next Smackdown! Live pay per view):
Jinder Mahal vs. Rusev for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Could be interesting to see a babyface Rusev. And considering their history, this one kind of makes sense.
Money in the Bank participants:
Randy Orton vs. The Great Khali
Naomi vs. Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch in a triple threat match for the Smackdown! Live Women's Championship
The Usos vs. The New Day vs. The Singh Brothers vs. BreeZango in a fatal four-way elimination match for the WWE Tag Team Championships
American Alpha vs. Primo and Epico - I think they've given up on AA at this point.
